Video/Pod Cast Selection
The on-line video cast that I have used in my classroom is the ten minute news program put out by CNN. This program featues current news stories, along with some other featured news-worthy stories. It is hosted by Carl Azuz. I have found this video cast quite good, and helpful within my classroom.
Other provided features that I like about CNN Student News are: 1) That it offers the user a type written transcript (helpful when developing outline notes, and also in providing the correct spelling of names and places). 2) There is a daily quiz provided for that day's news broadcast. 3) There is an archives section for previous broadcasts so that students who were absent may watch at a later time to make-up their missing assignment.
